What
is a Minbari? <Get to
the point facts. |

Well this is a tuff one, but lets go.
Takeaway the bold head the the big bone on the back
of there head they look exactly like humans even there
blood is the same color. But don't get excited, there
internal organs are deferent. From what I found out
a Minbari can live on nothing for 7 or 8 days. Cool,
we can only live for a maximum of 4 days.
From the rest of there body-parts it is relativity
the same as humans.
As for the personality of a Minbari I would say that
they don't have the human humor and the joy of things,
they are always serious and stressful, and when it
comes to humans the can seem a little arrogant and
they always have an answer and seem to deliver it
with an uncanny knack of looking down at you, no matter
how short they are. (I wonder how weird that could
seem to a Minbari.)
They remind me of Vulcan's in star trek.
For fun with a Minbari, they are not much fun, Lacking
the human spirit, I would say!. Try and take them
to a pub and you probably would forget about him,
and Minbari cannot drink alcohol because it is dangerous
and it would kill them, What fun.
More than likely they would sit in a corner and look
at you. (Thinking that you are a prat.)
((In fact if you're
out with a Minbari girl, you should forget getting
her into bed for at least a couple of years, look
at Sheridan and Delenn for goodness sake. The geezer
flew off to Z'ha'dum, 'the planet of no return' in
the third series and all he got from Delenn the night
before was a kiss? and even then she is part human!))
Relationships with the Minbari people would be hard
(I think) because the Minbari do not like outsiders
mingling in there culture and people, especially humans,
as the two worlds had a nasty war. But that did not
stop Sheridan and Delenn, and Delenn is even having
a child called David???. Mind you I haven't seen any
other relationships with Minbari and humans, they
should have made a episode about that, and the problems
it could cause for the Minbari people and the families,
that would be interesting!.
As dull they may seem they do take interest in art
and culture and as humans involve a lot of this, I
am not suppressed that they do open themselves a little,
so do humans, but this race is extremely religious,
well I do wonder about the warier cast, all they are
interested in is killing things. I think the military
and them would get on like a house on fire.

For this they are more deferent than humans in this
way.
The Minbari use a cast system or order there way
of life (And the shape of the bones on there heard
determines which cast they go to). The cast from
what I know is Warrior Cast, Religious Cast, Worker
cast, there may be other.
They are all controlled by the gray council made
by a Minbari called Valen, I get the feeling he may
have been a human, correct me if I am wrong.

This is the cast that controls what happens
in a sense. Members of each cast makes up the
Gray council so, not one cast have have control
over another and vice-verser. Also the Gray
Council is where the Minbari leader more less
lives.
For a Minbari to become part of the Gray Council
they must first undertake the Ritual. A crystal
determines if the Minbari are holey or something.
If it glows the Minbari is accepted.
The gray Council is manly in a dark chamber
with a upside down table with hovering balls
on top of it. The members stand in a circle
with gray cloths over there heads and body,
and white spotlights mark each person out.
When someone speaks they remove the cloth from
his/her head and speak.
When I watched the film, Babylon 5: In the
beginning the member of the gray council was
called rather strangely, Well 6 Minbari turned
up, (Three male and three rather good looking
females) to his room all carrying a triangle
with bells on it. They dragged him on to a ship
and then to the chamber.
I think this cast is secret to. G-Kar said
something about this cast and nearly got killed!

This is the Minbari army, Armed with powerful
cruisers and small ships these people nearly
wiped out the humans and destroyed almost all
of there ships.
They are not a nice bunch either when it comes
to Outsiders and especially when it comes to
people visiting Minbar, the Warrior cast does
not like visitors.
They are also aggressive all the time.

This is the nice side of the Minbari, from
what I have seen they welcome outsiders, how
is something I have yet to see, but these are
the people who are, you guessed it Religious
and worship the gie Valen. I have yet to gather
more information on the cast.

The workers are the main builders on Minbari,
they build things like ships for the Religious
and Warier cast and they also build building
on Minbar, Bridges and other beautiful things
to. They are one of the people that are able
to speak other languages outside their world
because they do trade and order from outsiders.

In 2245 earth sends a fleet of ships to explore
Minbari space to survey the positions of their
ships and fleets and find out if the Minbari
have any hostile intentions towards earth. But
the captain of the fleet decides to get closer
to to the Minbari cruisers to get information
on it, but they get a little too close to them
and the Minbari ships turn and starts to scan
them. But the scan rays interfere with there
jump engines and so they cannot jump into hyperspace.
As it is custom to the warrior cast the Minbari
ships open there gun ports. But the captain
of the earth fleet gets a little nervous and
gives the order to open fire, in the result
of this the leader of the Minbari race is killed
and a viscous war between the humans and the
Minbari starts.
Well from what I can see earth was doomed,
there was over 100 Minbari crosiers in earth's
space ready to destroy earth and all the humans
when out of the blue they stop. Why? all the
other races would say.
Well the Minbari's find out that the Humans
have a Minbari Sole, Yes, the humans have
an Minbari Sole. As Minbari's do not kill
each other they cannot destroy earth and also
they find out that the humans are important
in the next faze. The coming shadow war.
I would say that Delenn is fascinated in humans,
as the series goes on I get the feeling, and
she even goes through a transformation which
leaves her half Minbari and half Human. Of course
I don't think Humans really gave a s**t, but
the Minbari people were furious, and to top
it all Delenn and Sheridan start a relationship
that leads to marriage and children, Man they
really know how to stir the pot.
As of yet for me Delenn and Sheridan are the
only two people to have an alien relationship
between Minbari and Humans.

Well all the races that stumbles on the Minbari
I think the humans will be a race that the Minbari
will never forget, along side the Shadows. Well
the human race organized the destruction of
the shadows and how's world was contaminated
with a deadly plague by the Drak, I think.
Also we made the most powerful ship to I
think, The excaliber (Which moves on
to the next spin of series Crusade.) That
uses Minbari and Vorlon tech.
Humans turn the impossible into the possible.

OK, here it is, I gathered this from scratches
of information but Her it goes.
The Minbari are one of the oldest space raring
races and so are the shadows and Vorlons
1000 years before the war between earth and
Minbari, they defeated the shadows and a famous
Minbari called Valen, said that they would return
in a thousand years.
There are also other information that said
the Narns helped in defeating them, but when
I find out what happened I will update this
page.
Anyway during then the Minbari also fort off
other alien races like the Sole hunters that
wanted to take a famous Minbari and some other.
(Which I can't remember the name's of.),
Guess what, they lost, Ha.
Then humans came along and messed things up,
for the good I think.

So how do you know what a Minbari looks like.
Well the human like people with large bones
on the back of there head and with no hair.
((Women have smooth
head bones, which curve gracefully to a point
at the back of the head. As you might expect
though, blokes have lots of peaks ending in
a single peak at the back.
The Minbari warrior cast has aggressive spiky
head bones, the workers have a head shaped like
a brick and the religious casts have elegant
crowns.
Minbari babies are not born with head bones
(no doubt to the relief of the Minbari mother);
they gradually grow out as the child gets older.))

Well at the start of the Earth and Mbar war
the Original leader Ducatt was killed.
After 10 years Delenn was asked to take control,
but with her fascination with humans, she turned
down the offer and left the gray council, well
she was thrown out.
But later on the warier cast tried to put to
meny of it's members in the gray council to
overrun the Religious cast and unbalance the
leadership of everyone else, this led to a bloody
civil war between the Warier and Religious,
as of yet I still don't really know what happened.
But after the Civil war Delenn made a new Gray
Council and 5 members where made up of the workers
and one from each side of the Warier and Religious
casts.

When I first saw there world it looked a cold
and dull place, all I saw was a light gray planet,
mind you this might not be there Home-World,
I saw this in the movie Babylon 5: In the Beginning.
Well as I watched parts of the show it seemed
like there world was a very eye spiraling place,
with tall building and gardens.
As of yet I still don't have much information
on this subject.

What make's this part of the story, and the
relation's of the Minbari and the Humans interesting
is this mysterious person that turned up in
Minbari space, with a space station. He was
later to be called Valen the great Minbari leader.
But the shocking surprise to any non Babylon
5 fan that is just getting into it is that Valen
if actual Jeffrey Sinclair, who traveled back
in time and used a chrysalis device to transform
himself into a Human-Minbari hybrid. They called
him the Minbari that was not born from this
world (I think). In Valen's case, this resulted
in a contamination of his Minbari descendents
with traces of Human DNA.
The triluminaries are mysterious devices that
were brought by Valen and Zathras from Epsilon
3 in the future. They have some capability to
analyze DNA patterns, and a triluminary is the
key component in the chrysalis device.
Valen also gave the first rule which is that
Minbari do not kill Minbari and from what I
can gather he then organized the gray council
and split the Minbari into casts, (as of yet
it is all misty for me as this goes beyond my
understanding as I have never seen this part
of the series.)
If the Minbari people ever know this, all hell
will break loose and a war will probably start
not with just the Minbar but also with Earth.
I still don't know why Jeffrey Sinclair went
back in time with the space station when he
was in the future and he know nothing about
it. I wonder what it would be like if he did
not go back in time as he did the first time
around, (Yes I know it is all confusing.)
But the only time they will probably find out
that Valen is a Human is when the shadows, long
gone are destroyed. Since then, the earth alliance
has made some pritty Powerful ships that could
do a stand of with a Minbari Crosier and very
well destroy it. (Not blagging or anything?)
The new ships are called the Warlock's
