Well this is the space station called DS9.

Or Deep space 9 (Nine)

It is a space station in the corner of space near or should I say on the edge of Cardassian space.

The station was made and belongs to the Bajorans, which are a race of spiritual people, and the Cardassians recently occupied Bajor, many years of terrorist attacks by the Bajorans, the Cardassians withdrew from Bajor. The Bajoran Provisional Government has asked the Federation for help with the immense task of rebuilding Bajor after the occupation.

Then a small Federation crew, under the command of Commander Benjamin Sisko has taken control of the station.

That is the basic point of it.
